Service areas & enquiry guide

Define the challenge.
Discuss the possibilities.

Use these six areas to frame your engineering enquiry. The guidance below explains what information is useful and which responsibilities need to be clarified before any work is agreed.

These are enquiry areas, not a catalogue of guaranteed deliverables. Availability, technical suitability, in-house or partner involvement, documentation and commercial terms are confirmed case by case.

01 / Marine & aviation

Boats & aircraft

A useful enquiry starts with the vessel or aircraft platform, the system involved and the task you want to resolve. State whether your question concerns a component, an interface, documentation or a wider project.

Discuss a marine or aviation enquiry

Marine & aviation / Technical concept

Include in your brief

  • Platform make and model, component reference or part number, and the intended operating environment.
  • The issue or requirement, including known dimensions, interfaces and existing documentation.
  • Whether the enquiry is for a concept, an existing installation or a replacement requirement, plus any target dates.

Clarify before proceeding

Identify who is responsible for design decisions, installation, inspection and acceptance. Any requirements for traceability, release documents or platform-specific approval should be identified at the enquiry stage.

This page does not establish aviation design or maintenance approval, airworthiness release authority, or marine certification. Any required approvals and specialist involvement must be verified for the specific scope.

02 / Motorsport

Race-car components

Describe the component and how it interacts with the rest of the vehicle. Clearly separate a performance objective from a requirement that can be measured, reviewed or tested.

Discuss a race-car component
Technical concept of a brake disc, a caliper and a machined suspension component
Motorsport components / Technical concept

Include in your brief

  • Vehicle or platform details, the component concerned and whether it is for competition, testing or another use.
  • Mounting points, available space, material constraints and known operating loads or temperatures.
  • The problem you want to address, relevant competition rules and your proposed evaluation criteria.

Clarify before proceeding

Agree which specifications are available, what further information is needed and who will carry out any manufacture, installation and validation. Make safety-critical interfaces explicit.

No increase in performance, competition eligibility or road-use approval is implied. These depend on the specific component, application and appropriate verification.

03 / Fluid systems

Hydraulics

Think beyond the individual part.

A hydraulic requirement depends on how the components work together. Tell us about the equipment, working fluid, operating pressure, flow and connection types, along with the component or system question you want to discuss.

Discuss a hydraulic requirement

Hydraulic systems / Technical concept

Include in your brief

  • The machine or application, required function and any available hydraulic schematic.
  • Known working pressure, flow, fluid type, temperature range and duty cycle. Mark unknown values as unknown.
  • Component references, connection requirements, space constraints and a description of any observed issue.

Clarify before proceeding

Establish the boundaries of the system, available technical information and the responsibilities for installation, controls and testing. Confirm the expected deliverable before making changes.

An enquiry is not operating or repair advice. Pressure-system modifications, commissioning and safety assessment require an agreed scope and appropriately qualified personnel.

04 / Equipment

Medical & measuring equipment

State what the equipment is intended to do and where it will be used. Distinguish an industrial measurement question from an enquiry involving a medical device or clinical application.

Discuss an equipment enquiry

Measuring equipment / Technical concept

Include in your brief

  • Equipment type, manufacturer and model if known, intended use and operating environment.
  • For measurement: the quantity being measured, range, resolution, required accuracy and interfaces.
  • Documentation, traceability or calibration requirements, and whether the request concerns selection, integration or a technical question.

Clarify before proceeding

Identify applicable documentation requirements and the party responsible for suitability, validation and any regulated activity. Required certificates, test evidence or calibration scope should be checked specifically rather than assumed.

No medical-device certification, clinical suitability or accredited calibration capability is claimed here. Do not include patient data or sensitive health information in your enquiry.

05 / Custom projects

Custom engineering

The detail defines the requirement.

A component is more than its shape. Material, dimensions, tolerances, operating conditions and interfaces all help define what is needed. Share the application and any existing specification so the discussion begins with the right context.

Discuss a component
Technical still life of a machined flange, an aluminum bracket and a steel caliper
Precision components / Technical concept

Include in your brief

  • The task the component or system needs to perform and the limitations of the current approach.
  • Space, interfaces, environment, material preferences and any quantities or target costs that shape the requirement.
  • Your current project stage and the output you are seeking, such as a technical discussion, a defined specification or a proposed project scope.

Clarify before proceeding

Agree the deliverables, acceptance criteria, responsibilities and treatment of existing designs. Confirm any prototype, manufacturing, testing or external specialist requirements separately.

Feasibility, production capability, costs and lead times are not established by this page. Avoid sending confidential drawings until an appropriate method of exchange has been agreed.

06 / Project support

Consultancy & project planning

A clear brief is a practical first step.

Whether your project begins with a specification or an open question, make the starting point clear. Describe the intended use, current stage, key constraints and decisions ahead. Include the timing and the type of support you are seeking.

Start a project discussion

Technical planning / Concept study

Include in your brief

  • A short project summary, its current stage and the main question, decision or obstacle.
  • Known stakeholders, technical inputs and any dependencies on suppliers or other specialists.
  • The type of support sought, desired outputs, target milestones and practical budget constraints.

Clarify before proceeding

Set out decision-making authority, communication arrangements, deliverables and how proposed changes will be reviewed. Any ongoing coordination role should have a defined scope.

Enquiries do not create an appointment or a project-management commitment. Availability, professional responsibilities, fees and timelines require separate agreement.

From question to brief

Make the first conversation useful.

A clear outline is more useful than a long message. If you are unsure which area fits, choose a general enquiry and describe the application in your own words.

Start your enquiry
  1. Explain the application. What equipment, component or project is the enquiry about?
  2. Include the essentials. Add a part reference, specification, quantity or key constraint where available. Mark estimates and unconfirmed details clearly.
  3. Describe the next step you need. Tell us the support you are looking for and any target date.

For drawings or sensitive project information, ask us how to share them before sending confidential material.

This website is for information and enquiries only. It does not accept online orders, payments or bookings. Do not send sensitive personal data or confidential documents through the contact form.

Before you get in touch

A few practical questions.

Can I contact you before I have a complete specification?

Yes. Explain the application, what you already know and the question you need to resolve. Mark estimates and unconfirmed details clearly.

Can I place an order here?

No. This website accepts enquiries only. Any quotation, technical scope, payment terms or supply arrangement must be agreed separately.

Can I send drawings or sensitive information?

Please do not use this public form for confidential drawings, patient data or other sensitive material. First ask how the relevant information should be shared.

What does the receipt confirm?

A reference confirms that your enquiry was recorded. It is not acceptance of a project or proof that a notification reached an inbox. Keep the reference for follow-up.

What should I include for a regulated application?

Identify the intended use and any required approvals, traceability, conformity documents or other acceptance criteria. A service area listed on this website does not, by itself, establish approval for a particular application.

Can I visit your office?

Office meetings are by prior appointment only. Contact us by email or telephone to arrange a suitable time before travelling.
